Bird Health Certificates & Documentation

What paperwork comes with your bird, and how to arrange more

Every bird at Dubai Birds is hand-raised and cared for at our aviary before sale. Not every bird leaves with a formal health certificate as standard, here's exactly what documentation you get, and how to arrange more if you need it.

    What comes with your bird

    Leg-band ID confirming captive-bred provenance
CITES permits and certificates where the species requires them
A health certificate, where one is already on file for that bird

If your bird doesn't have a health certificate

Not every bird in our aviary carries a formal veterinary health certificate at the time of sale. If you need one, for travel, insurance, a landlord, or your own peace of mind, tell us and we'll arrange an appointment with one of our partnered avian vets on your behalf. The examination and certificate are billed directly by the vet; the cost is payable by you.

    Vet care before sale

Birds at our aviary are looked after by our partnered avian vets as part of normal aviary care. This is separate from, and does not replace, a formal dated veterinary health certificate.

    CITES documentation

For species listed under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES), we provide full traceability documentation where applicable:

CITES permits and certificates where required
    Breeder identification and origin documentation
    Import permits issued by MOCCAE

If you think your bird is unwell

Contact us on WhatsApp at +971 56 297 7042 with a description and, if possible, photos or video. We'll advise on next steps, including a referral to one of our vet partners. See our [Returns Policy](/returns-policy/) for what's covered if a bird needs to be returned.

    Ongoing support

Our relationship with you doesn't end at the sale. We offer:

Diet and care advice – anytime, for the life of the bird
Vet referrals – access to our network of avian veterinarians across the UAE
Behavioural support – help with training, socialisation, and common issues

    Frequently Asked Questions

Does every bird come with a health certificate?
Not automatically. Some birds already have a current health certificate on file, in which case we hand it over at delivery. If your bird doesn't have one and you need it, we can arrange an appointment with one of our partnered avian vets on your behalf, the vet's fee is payable by you.
Who pays for the health certificate if I ask for one?
You do. We'll arrange the appointment with one of our vet partners, but the examination and certificate fee are billed by the vet directly and paid by the customer.
Do you guarantee the bird's health after purchase?
We don't offer a health guarantee. Every bird is hand-raised and cared for at our aviary before sale, and we're always available on WhatsApp for advice, but we don't provide refunds or replacements based on a bird's health after it has left our care. See our Returns Policy for what is covered.
Can I still get advice if something seems wrong with my bird?
Yes, anytime. WhatsApp us and we'll advise on next steps and can refer you to one of our avian vet partners. This support isn't tied to a guarantee window, it's available for the life of the bird.
