What’s in a Dubai Birds pre-sale vet check
Birds are notoriously good at hiding illness, which is why a generalist’s once-over isn’t enough. Our pre-sale checks are performed by avian-credentialled vets and cover the same areas an experienced buyer would inspect themselves, only with the right equipment and clinical experience.
· Body weight, body condition score, and feather quality
· Beak, cere, eye, and nare inspection
· Cloacal swab where indicated
· Auscultation (heart and respiratory listening)
· Crop palpation and faecal examination
· PBFD / polyomavirus / psittacosis screening for high-value birds
· Documented certificate handed to the buyer with the bird
Recommended avian vets in the UAE
Dubai Birds doesn’t operate a formal clinic-partnership programme. Every bird in our care has its pre-sale check completed by a UAE licensed avian vet, and we keep a working list of clinics we’d send a buyer to without hesitation.
The clinics below are publicly listed exotic and avian specialists across the UAE, we are recommending them on the basis of public reputation and stated avian credentials, not as paid or contracted partners. Always call ahead to confirm availability, current pricing, and whether the named vet is on duty the day of your visit.
13+ years in avian medicine (Iran and the UAE). Wellness checks, parasite testing, crop swabs, faecal exams, bloodwork, imaging, minor avian surgery and referrals.

What to do if your bird seems unwell
Birds compensate until they can’t. The first signs of illness are often subtle, sleeping more, less chatter, slightly puffed feathers, a shift in droppings consistency. By the time a bird is visibly unwell, it’s usually well into a problem.
If your bird shows any of those subtle signs, message us first, we can often triage by photo / short video and recommend whether to monitor at home or get to one of the clinics above that day.
Need a vet referral?
Tell us where you live (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, etc.) and what species you have, and we’ll recommend the closest avian-credentialled vet from the list above.
Recommendations are public-information references, not formal partnerships. Listed clinic details verified against each clinic’s own website on May 2026; phone numbers and branch hours change, always call ahead. If a clinic on this list later partners with Dubai Birds formally, they’ll move to the “Partner Clinics” section above.
