The White-Bellied Caique is known for its energetic personality, colorful plumage, and entertaining behavior that has earned caiques the title of 'clowns of the bird world.' Their distinctive coloring — orange and yellow head, green wings, white belly, and blue flight feathers — makes them one of the most colorful small parrots. White-Bellied Caiques are always on the move: hopping, surfing on flat surfaces, rolling on their backs, and wrestling with toys. They have a playful, fearless personality and seem to believe they are much larger than they are. They bond closely with their owners and enjoy interactive play, tricks, and cuddling. While not the best talkers, they make up for it with their comical antics and joyful energy. Lifespan is 25–40 years.
Diet
High-quality small parrot pellets, a generous variety of fresh fruits (berries, mango, papaya), vegetables (corn, peas, sweet potato), and sprouted seeds. Caiques love fruit!
